HOW TO GET READY FOR AN OCCASION
Happy Sunday and welcome back to my blog beautiful people I hope the second half of the year has been good to you? This second half of the year I decided to try new things, be more dedicated to the things that pay me, pay more attention to the things that make me happy, explore life in various positive ways, read more, drink more water( literally) and rest more. So far I’ll say I’ve succeeded in doing that.
In today’s post I’ll be giving 10 tips on how to get ready for an occasion be it big or small. I’ve applied these steps so many times including the last event I attended on my trip to Odessa. Let’s dive straight in shall we?
1. KNOW WHERE YOU’RE GOING TO
It is always important to know what the occasion you’re going for is all about, if you get an impromptu invite it’s always safe to make detailed findings about the event like the dress code, colors and location (outdoor or indoor).
2. PLAN AHEAD
Not everyone can work under pressure especially when it comes to making shopping decisions. Trust me shopping for outfits can be crazy, one minute you have it all figured out in your head and the next minute you think you’re crazy for making a decision like that, so the earlier you start to prepare the better.
3. HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU WANT
Yes this is very important, it’s always advisable to to have an idea or two of how you want to look so when shopping or making plans with your tailor you know exactly what you’re up for, this way you’ll save yourself the stress of indecision.
4. BE COMFORTABLE
Whatever idea you come up with, make sure you’re at least 95% comfortable with it because you don’t want to end up blaming yourself about the way you look at an event. For me comfort is key!
5. CHECK YOUR WARDROBE
Sometimes you actually never know what you have in your wardrobe until you search well. Checking your wardrobe is essential because it helps cut cost, check your wardrobe to see what you have and if you like what you have. Sometimes you may not have the exact thing in your wardrobe but you might have something similar that can pass for the look you’re going for, bring it out try it on to see if it still fits or needs some amendments. If nothing in your wardrobe matches the look you want to go for you’re free to go shopping.
6. TRY MANY OPTIONS
It doesn’t matter how many outfits you try, if you have time on your side try as many outfits as you can and compare to see the one that fits you best because regret after buying an outfit is an emotional torture.
7. MAKE SURE YOU LIKE IT
Make sure you like the decision you make and you’re comfortable with it no matter what.(especially in a cold weather)
8. ASK SOMEONE YOU TRUST
Take a picture of yourself wearing the outfit and send it to a friend you trust when it comes to dressing or call them on video call. Two heads are better than one you know ( nevertheless make sure you know what you want irrespective of their decision)
9. GET THE OUTFIT READY
Get the outfit ready by washing and ironing if needed. Hang it in a safe place and keep out of the reach of children lol. Keep the accessories aside too.
10. HANDLE WITH CARE
While getting dressed many things can occur due to rush especially with outfits that has zips and buttons. No matter the situation surrounding your dress up time, try to be calm and wear every piece bit by bit from earrings to shoe buckles.
That’s the end of today’s post and I hope this helps you out the next time you have an occasion to attend. Here are pictures from the baby shower I attended enjoy.
Till my next post remain FABULOUS!!
